Enables cholesterol absorption in the intestines (target of ezetimibe drug). The C allele (minor) is associated with reduced absorption of cholesterol and CoQ10. People with this variant may have slightly lower LDL cholesterol and might respond differently to supplements like CoQ10 (less increase in blood levels).
